IN THE NAME OF GOD, MOST BENEVOLENT, MOST OMNIPOTENT

Understanding God in Islam:

1.  Many Islamic scholars, when referring to God, Creator of the heavens and the earth, in their translations or otherwise always refer to God as Allah.  Allah is the literal Arabic translation of the word, or better stated the Concept, God.  Almost every language has a word for the Concept that is God, or the ultimate supreme being.  However, they have often shied away from using the word God as to avoid, the references of God in other religions where God is mistakenly taken as being 2, 3,  thousands, or even human.  Although this may be a gesture of respect on their part, the fact remains that the true God, the One God, is God of all creation in the earth and in the universe.  His existence is free from all needs, and his names are the Most Beautiful of Names.  By whatever names we refer to Him, God is the Most High and none compares to Him.  If all this is a bit confusing, I would recommend calling Him Lord of the worlds.

2.  The One God, who has guided Muslims into submission to his will for centuries through his revelations, is the same God that sent the messenger of the Jews, prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and that of the Christians, prophet Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon him) and countless others.  You will find no change in the ways of God.

The Role of the Qur'an:

The Qur'an is the holy book, revealed to the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) by the angel Gabriel.  What sets this book apart from other holy books is that God has promised that this book can never be changed.  Unlike the torah and the new testament that have clearly been tampered with, God has said to us regarding its safe keeping:  "This is the perfect book, free of all doubt and involution; it is a guidance for the righteous and the purified....." and "We surely have sent down this exposition and We surely will Safeguard it."15:10

Sects in Islam:

1.  There are many sects in Islam, most notably the Shi'as, and Sunnis whom have been around since shortly after the departure of the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).   They were separated through differences regarding the truth of some historical facts.  Throughout the years, many others have surfaced such as the Bahai's and the Ali-o-llahis a.k.a. ahleh hagh (although some if not all of these sects will deny this relation) with the most recent addition being the group Submitters International.  God is very clear in the holy Qur'an regarding this matter: "Do not break up your religion into sects..." Oxford defines religion as "the expression of a belief in a superhuman controlling power in worship."  It follows, therefore, if there is only One God that created all of humanity, then there is only one best way of pursuing His worship.  Thus religion is one and adherence to sects an immoral state or sin (haram).

2.  Since some are guilty of this sin, it follows that they will be vulnerable to evils such as those seen nowadays, including the termination of intrauterine life.  Remember that Islam is the only religion in which you will find no hardship.

Why Embrace Islam?

There are only two words that answer this question:  The Truth.  If you have made it your life's effort to be in search of the truth, then God willing, you will realize that the religion based on the holy scripture the Qur'an, is a revelation from the Lord of Worlds, the One God, and a guidance and a mercy, for those who seek the truth.

Additionally, Islam brings about the completion of holy scriptures torah and the new testament, and clears the way for humans to Godliness and closeness to the prophets of God . . .  the path to salvation.

Thus, to believe in Islam signifies a person who believes in the life to come and knows that there is no god but the One God.  A person who is mindful of the day he will meet the Gracious One, and fears the chastisement of that heavy day!

May God guide us all to the straight and righteous path.  May Perfect Praises and Glory be upon the One God, Allah.
